The Choctaw Nation Health Care Clinic in Idabel, OK is one of the largest health clinics within the Choctaw Nation Services. It was completed and opened on May 13, 2005 and is a 55,546 sq ft facility. The clinic has over 15,000 patients registered from Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas as well as several other states across the country. We have greater than 3500 visits per month on average. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8-4:30pm and Wednesday appointments begin at 10:00am.
The services offered at our facility are a full time Medical Clinic, Dental Clinic, Optometry Clinic, Physical Therapy and Pharmacy. We have in-house Laboratory and Radiology services which also includes a digital mammography machine and ultrasound equipment. Podiatry services are offered here on Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8-4:30pm. We are a smoke free campus/facility as well as all of Choctaw Nation Clinics.
Currently on staff are 2 family practice physicians, one internal medicine physician, one pediatrician, one podiatrist, and a walk-in provider position. We have a physical therapist that offers EMG evaluations for our patients here much like our hospital at Talihina and a physical therapy assistant. The dental department consists of two dentists, two dental hygienists, and four dental assistants. If you need emergency dental service, you can sign up at 7:30am at Registration Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. We have a behavioral health counselor on site full-time. We also have a dietician and audiologist that come various times throughout the month.
We have 3 full-time pharmacists and four pharmacy technicians. The pharmacy department offers Anticoagulation Services in conjunction with the Physicians in order to monitor patients INR whom are on Coumadin therapy. This makes it more accessible for patients and patients have shown to stay in range longer. The pharmacy department also has a Smoking Cessation course offered three to four times a year. It is taught by pharmacists and a dentist over 4 classes in 4 weeks. The pharmacy offers refills through a refill center located in Poteau, OK through the website, http://rx.cnhsa.com
The Choctaw Nation Health Clinics are closed on most major holidays except for Labor Day when the Choctaw Nation has it’s festival at Tushkahoma, OK.
Idabel, is a city in McCurtain County Oklahoma and is located in the furthest southeast region of Oklahoma in Kiamichi Country. Idabel was established in 1902. The city was named after a Railroad Official Isaac Purnell’s daughters, Ida and Bell.
If you have never been here before, you will be amazed. The facility is beautiful and we have friendly faces that will greet you throughout the clinics. We ask that you provide your driver’s license, social security card, CDIB card and Insurance information when you register for the first time.
If you are requesting a same day appointment with a provider, please phone that morning in advance; however, if you desire to be an urgent care walk-in, you may come in early in the morning and sign in at registration.
We are located off of Bypass 259, south of the main town area. There are several restaurants and hotels for your convenience.
